People have been celebrating Halloween on the last day of October for centuries—but a few hundred-thousand parents are trying to change that.
An organization called the Halloween & Costume Association created a petition to change the date, and celebrate Halloween on the last Saturday in October instead. The rationale is that Saturday Halloween would be safer than a mid-week celebration.
If that’s true, perhaps Christmas and New Years celebrations should be moved to the last Saturday in December and January.
How about moving 4th of July fireworks to the last Saturday in July.
The "Saturday Halloween Movement" has gathered more than 150,000 signatures in just a few days, that might be enough to make it to the White House.
Ultimately, the decision will be left up to the federal government. After the petition is passed on to the White House, an "official update" will be issued within 60 days.
Whatever they do is meaningless, pointless and won’t change a thing.
The Pagan Kitchen is honoring Halloween/Samhain on October 31 regardless.
