December 25th - Happy Birthday To So Many

Though December 25 is the day Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ, the date itself and many of the customs we've come to associate with Christmas actually evolved from Pagan traditions celebrating the winter solstice.

Here are a few other Gods that share December 25th as their birthday...

And of course, it’s The Suns birthday as well.

The movement of the sun moves south from June (the Summer Solstice) through December and the weather gradually gets colder and the sun is getting weaker.

Then the Sun dies around the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, December 21.

But three days later the sun is resurrected and movement begins again on December 25.

In other words, the sun dies (on the Southern Cross) and then is soon reborn.

This parallels the son dying on the cross and then rising after three days.

The sun brings life, while the son brings salvation.

So, there it is, Happy Birthday, Happy Winter Solstice and Merry Christmas.

The Four Elements of Nature

The German physician Max Gerson said “Stay close to nature and its eternal laws will protect you.”
When we are aligned with the four basic elements of nature and seek to balance these elements within ourselves, we will enjoy balance and wellness.
When we have been out of touch with the natural world for extended periods of time we tend to develop destructive habits and patterns that are opposite to nature.

Healers understand this, that's why crystals, the moon, water, the sun, the air we breathe, the fire and oils we use play such an important part of our daily lives.
