The Water Element

The importance of the four elements is hardly a new concept.
The Greek philosopher Empedocles credited these elements as being the root of all existing matter.

Earth represents grounding, the foundation of life, substance, connection to life path.

Water represents emotional release, intuition, and inner reflection.

Air represents intellect, mental intention, and connection to universal life force.

Fire represents energy, a tool for transformation, connection to personal power, and inner strength.

We are surrounded by the four classical elements (air, earth, fire, and water) within our environment.
They are represented by the wind in our skies, terra firma, warmth from sun rays, and a wide variety of watery resources (seas, rivers, lakes, creeks, and ponds).

There are many healing traditions which incorporate the elements in their practices.
The medicine wheel is an example of Native Americans recognizing the four elements.
Wiccans honor the classical elements along with a fifth added in that represents the spirit or the self.

Using the Water element is powerful.
Whenever you feel a need to be re-energized.
Soaking in the tub, walking in the rain, a wonderful shower, the ocean waves, works wonders.

Drinking water for our health and survival is understood, it’s a vital ingredient needed to keep your physical body functioning.
But looking at water from a  spiritual perspective, it’s a form of life force energy.
Your physical body needs water to survive… But water is necessary to keep your energy circulating.
When you maintain proper hydration, you help to keep your physical and energy aligned vibrationally.

Drinking plenty of water also helps you to maintain mental clarity, it’s energizing, and when you drink water, it serves to flush out toxins which raises your vibration, and leads to increased energy, vitality, even happiness.
Being dehydrated not only has physical rewards, it also offers spiritual ones as well.
