14000 Year Old Settlement

The discovery of a 14,000 year-old settlement in Canada -
thousands of years older than the pyramids.

An incredible find beneath the mud on tiny Triquet Island include spears, fishing hooks and fire-lighting tools.

Archaeologists are now trying to piece together clues about life in the village - the oldest ever found in North America.

This find is changing the way it’s believed North America was first peopled.

Triquet Island is little more than 200 miles south of the Alaskan border on Canada's west coast.

Local indigenous peoples of the Heiltsuk tribe have long passed down stories of ancient settlements on the same stretch of coast.

And the discovery is believed to have proved that oral stories passed down over thousands of years may be accurate.

Heiltsuk Nation spokesman William Housty said: "To think about how these stories survived all of that, only to be supported by this archaeological evidence is just amazing.”

Canada Legalizes Witchcraft

Last week, Canadian officials updated their Criminal Code, repealing of a law that made the practice of witchcraft illegal.
Section 365 mandated that it was illegal to "tell fortunes" or to "pretend to exercise or to use any kind of witchcraft, sorcery, enchantment or conjuration." However, after a 2012 National Post article referred to the section as a "distant descendant of Medieval English laws that sentenced accused witches to burn at the stake," Canadian Prime Minister (and all-around internet bae) Justin Trudeau & Co. have brought the Criminal Code into the 21st century — effectively letting witches live their lives without fear of persecution.
Omar Ha-Redeye, a Toronto-based lawyer, said, ""The witchcraft provisions in the Criminal Code reflect a culture, perspective, and legal system of an entirely different era. They are reminiscent of a time when women who did not conform to societal norms were not only shunned, but penalized."

Omar Added, "These provisions also reflect a primarily Christian mindset, where non-Christian traditions, including what we now may refer to as Wicca, totemism, or animism, or other traditions, were demonized as being evil. It's perhaps no surprise then that even today these provisions are used primarily against women or against people who follow non-mainstream religious traditions."

Crescent Moon School of Witchcraft and Paganism

The doors opened in 1995, in Montreal.
This school of Pagan study has a team of educators studying cultures and pantheons, history of religions, and cultural magical techniques, all subjects which are of interest and value to the contemporary Pagan practitioner.
The goal of Crescent Moon School is to introduce people to a variety of magical paths and modern Pagan religions. It does not teach a specific path, but rather aims at helping each student discover their own path and potential.
