OVERTHINKING

We’ve discussed this before, but let’s revisit OVERTHINKING.
It’s easy to get carried away with negative thoughts. Before you decide that calling in sick is going to get you fired, causing you to become homeless, acknowledge that your thoughts may be the result of overthinking. Learn to recognize and dismiss this hyperactive thinking before they work you into a complete panic.
Give yourself permission to dismiss the negative thoughts when they first appear.

Detach from Overthinking

We want to remind ourselves that stress, anxiety and depression doesn't work, let it go and detach from overthinking issues that require anxiety and depression.

If your think through something that can be dealt with now, deal with it and get it over with.

But if it's something you can't take action, a very effective way to get past overthinking something is to distract your mind.
It could be exercise, a hobby, task, taking care of your pets, volunteer with the Humane Society, any activity that keeps your mind busy.
By doing this, you allow yourself to put your overthinking aside and it isn't something you are constantly preoccupied with.

Drugs and alcohol don't really shut your brain down, they only dull the thoughts., bringing more depression to your thoughts.
By keeping the mind busy for brief periods of time you can learn to be without those stupid thoughts for a while.

Anything that produce a  "void" where your mind is blank and you're just focused on what you're doing is a great way way to be distracted or paralyzed with overthinking.

Many people we know use meditation as a way to calm the overthinking,  but put yourself in a good mental state first.
Anxiety for one of our members is dealt with by listening to music, saying, "music saved him."

By focusing on the Pagan rituals many of us remain distracted from negative thoughts.

No one likes uncertainty.
When we think something is missing, we start overthinking trying to figure out the uncertainty.
When we think we don't have all the information, we not only overthink the situation, we also overestimate its worth.
We rationalize that since we are thinking so much,it must be important.

Overthinking has a way to create negative energy and we already know this a path to anxiety, depression, stress, self-doubt, hopelessness and fear.

When we overthink, we distort reality. We make things bigger than they really are.
Or we create scenarios in our minds that doesn’t actually exist. We distort reality and create something in our minds of something far worse.

It's not just the big things that can derail a person, it’s often the little things that we personalize and turn into a traumatic experiences.

Remember, not everything can be controlled.
We like to be in control, it makes us feel protected.
Over thinking is a way of trying to control a situation by coming to a solution, but the real truth is that security and control are an illusion.

Detach, let go, not everything can be controlled and you can’t always prevent all outcomes.

It isn't important whether or not your worst fear actually happens, if it doesn’t happen then it doesn’t matter…if it does, there’s nothing you can do.
Regardless, it’s out of your hands. Let it go, detach and find strength because you are still here.
