Worshipping the God of Other People's Opinions

One of our recent discussions was about: "what other people think", what if prople don't like me?"

Everyday we deal with people and sadly far too many of us live our lives worrying what these people think of us.

Let's face it, the reality is, far too often we base our actions and decisions on how we believe other people will judge us. As a result, we aren't the people we want to be because we’re afraid of what others will think.

We find ourselves walking on eggshells not wanting to upset anyone even it means sacrificing who we are and what we believe.
As a result we become shaped and controlled, we become mere spectators of our own lives.

Well you're not a spectator, and you don't have to worship the God of other people's opinions.
You will never be able to stop people from judging you, but you can stop it from affecting you.
What is the worst thing that could happen to you when someone is judging you or not liking you?
Nothing, that's what will happen, absolutely nothing.
Yet, we find ourselves worrying over nothing.

The people who don't like you don't matter.
Most likely there are a handful of people who love you for who you are, and the will be there for you.
These are people that matter, they are the only ones who deserve your attention.

So, you need to decide who and what’s important in your life.
Once you know who you really are and what matters to you, what other people think becomes meaningless.
When you know your core values, you're  no longer be a doormat.
